WWE SummerSlam 2012 lineup: Brock Lesnar rejects Triple H's offer to headline historic event

Brock Lesnar, through his World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) manager, Paul Heyman, responded to the challenge that Triple H recently issued to "fight" this summer on the most recent episode of "Monday Night Raw:"

Triple H took the stage over the weekend during the "No Way Out" pay-per-view (PPV) event to call out the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight champion, who returned to WWE shortly after he retired from mixed martial arts (MMA).
Lesnar, remember, used his fancy MMA skills to "break" Triple H's arm with a submission (kimura) earlier this year (watch the video here). He descended into an arm-snapping rampage shortly after Triple H -- WWE Chief Operating Officer (COO) -- ripped up his contract. That was right after Lesnar destroyed John Cena in his return match at "Extreme Rules," which was his first in eight years, only to lose in the end via pin to the fan favorite.

Upset with the loss to Cena and the treatment he received from Triple H, Lesnar sued the WWE for "breach of contract" and millions of dollars in damages. Rather than settle their score in a courtroom, Triple H has ratcheted up the public heat on Lesnar, not only calling him out on back-to-back nights, but offering him the opportunity to be the face of the SummerSlam promotion at the event's landmark 25th anniversary that will take place at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif., on Aug. 19, 2012.
Triple H even revealed the potential fight poster, telling Heyman it's everything Lesnar and his insatiable ego "wants." When Heyman reiterated their disinterest, Triple H attacked him, sending another strong message to Lesnar that a showdown in the near future is inevitable.
And why not? "The quitter" doesn't appear to be heading back to the Octagon anytime soon. Not if meetings with company president Dana White continue to be described as unable to "get any worse."
