Ever since Brock Lesnar "broke" Triple H's arm on the Raw following Extreme Rules 2012, fans and experts alike have been speculating about a possible duel between the two headliners.
Undoubtedly, a match as big as that one deserves to be spotlighted on a grand stage. And while WrestleMania 29 may be too long of a wait for the WWE Universe, SummerSlam 2012 would do just fine.
Over the years, the "biggest party of the summer" has boasted can't-miss main events and spectacles that have become entrenched in the annals of wrestling history.
For instance, who can forget Bret Hart and The British Bulldog's classic at Wembley Stadium? Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels one-upping their WrestleMania X classic? Edge being put through a Hell in a Cell grinder by Undertaker?
Given a recent piece of information, we may be able to add Lesnar versus Triple H to the summer extravaganza's rich history of epic affairs.
According to PWInsider.com,
Triple H is advertised for the August 13th RAW Supershow, which will be the go-home show for SummerSlam. Of course, there has been a lot of talk that he will face Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam.
Suffice it to say, the match would not only have ample box-office appeal, but have the necessary ingredients to even surpass Lesnar's hard-hitting battle with John Cena at Extreme Rules.
Not to mention, given Triple H's backstage clout, there would be oodles of political intrigue as to how vulnerable the on-air COO would make himself look.
For example, would he be willing to take the fall and/or put himself in harm's way like Cena did, or would he lobby for a more conventional matchup with the former UFC champion
